EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Giants are back and so is Jason Pierre-Paul.Pierre-Paul had 2+ sacks in probably his most dominant performance since mangling his right hand in a fireworks accident on July 4, 2015. The Giants posted their fifth straight win by rallying for a 22-16 decision over the injury-plagued Chicago Bears on a windy Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The winning streak is the longest in the regular season for the Giants (7-3) since 2010. It has them in position to make the playoffs for the first time since 2011. The Bears (2-8) are off to their worst start since 2002.With winless Cleveland on the schedule next weekend, there is no reason for the Giants streak to end. The offense has been coming up with enough plays, and the defense has been nailing the door shut.A concern for opponents is that the line is suddenly starting to get pressure. Olivier Vernon had one of the Giants four sacks and JPP stole the show, his total matching the amount from the eight games he played last season after recovering from his injury.JPP is JPP, man, Vernon said. Aint nothing changed about him. He is still a beast out there. After Eli Manning gave the Giants the lead with third-quarter touchdown passes to Will Tye and Sterling Shepard , the defense finished its second-half shutout. Of course, there was a little excitement. After being limited to two first downs, Jay Cutler drove the Bears to the Giants 30 at the two-minute warning. On first down, Pierre-Paul came around left end and got a strip-sack that cost Chicago 14 yards.I even told some guys that it is time to blow up, it is on us and guys responded, Pierre-Paul said. I responded myself. I cant just do the talking, I have to show up, and we came out with a win, guys. After a procedure penalty, safety Landon Collins iced the game with his fifth interception in the past four games.Anytime you can end the game on a play like that, thats encouraging, coach Ben McAdoo said. Sideline was fired up, we were fired up for Landon, he made a heck of a play.Thats the way its been for the Giants these days, which is a far cry from 6-10 records the team posted the past two years.Every game has been a little different; theyve all been close, theyve all come down to the last series, Manning said. Offense, defense, everybodys stepping up and doing their part to get wins. Here are some things learned in the game:DECIMATED BEARS: The Bears are getting to the point where they are running out of healthy players .Linebacker Leonard Floyd, who leads NFL rookie with five sacks, left the game on a stretcher in the fourth quarter with a neck injury. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and was later released and traveled with the team back to Chicago.Tight end Zach Miller also left with a possible broken right foot. Defensive back CreVon LeBlanc is in the concussion protocol and left guard Josh Sitton injured his right ankle.Coming into the game, the Bears were missing right tackle Bobbie Massie (concussion), nose tackle Eddie Goldman (ankle), and defensive end Mitch Unrein (back). Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery served the first game of a four-game suspension for violating the NFLs policy on performance enhancers. Guard Kyle Long was placed on injured reserve last week with ankle and shoulder injuries.MISSED PATS: The crosswind blowing at MetLife Stadium gave kickers Robbie Gould and Connor Barth problems.Gould missed two extra points and Barth missed an extra point and had a 51-yard field goal bounce off the upright. The first one I hit was where I was hitting them in pregame, Gould said. I thought I made it and it went outside the left upright. The second one I just didnt hit a good ball. Today was tough, but I have to make them.RUNNING GIANTS: New York is starting to find a running game. It rushed for 102 yards one week after running for 122 yards in a victory vs. Cincinnati. This is the first time the Giants have had back-to-back 100-yard rushing games since Nov. 30-Dec. 7, 2014 at Jacksonville and Tennessee. Rashad Jennings led the way with 85 yards on 21 carries.BIG MOUTH: Linebacker Pernell McPhee bragged early in the week his defense was going to knock down Manning a few times on Sunday and add to Chicagos sack total of 24.The Giants offensive line shut kept Manning upright. He was not sacked. It was what it was, you put on the film, youll see, McPhee said of the Bears pass rush. I think he `(Manning) did a great job of getting the ball out fast, he did a great job of mixing it up. I think we came in prepared and ready to rush, we just never got him behind the chains.---For more NFL coverage: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFL Adidas NMD Clearance Sale .Y. -- Marcell Dareus and the Buffalo Bills defence made life miserable for Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco. DENVER -- Kelby Tomlinson wont be penalized for being picked off first base earlier in the game. That fine has been officially waived by manager Bruce Bochy. His big hit was payment enough.Tomlinson lined a one-out, tiebreaking single in the ninth and the San Francisco Giants rallied to beat the Colorado Rockies 3-2 on Tuesday night.Just hoping to get a pitch that I could handle and get it in play there, said Tomlinson, who was called up from Triple-A Sacramento last week.Moments before that, Tomlinson tried to lay down a suicide squeeze. But he popped it into foul territory where it just eluded the diving attempt of Gerardo Parra. In the fifth, Tomlinson couldnt scramble back to the bag in time and was picked off.Its frustrating, but to be able to kind of help and make up for it is always good to get that opportunity, Tomlinson said.Eduardo Nunez had a solo homer in the third and a game-tying RBI groundout in the eighth.Javier Lopez (1-2) got one out in the eighth to earn the win. Santiago Casilla pitched the ninth for his 31st save. He got Parra to hit into a double play to end the game.Buster Posey began the top of the ninth by hitting a grounder to shortstop Daniel Descalso, who overthrew first baseman Parra and allowed Posey to cruise into second. Hunter Pence followed with an infield single off closer Adam Ottavino (0-2), who was then replaced by lefty Boone Logan. After Brandon Crawford struck out, Tomlinson lined an 0-2 fastball into left field to bring home Posey with the decisive run.Thats what its about -- the guys picking each other up, Bochy said. Kelby did tonight for us.Its a toss Descalso would love to have back.I just didnt make a good throw at a bad time in the game, Descalso said. I made that throw thousands of times. It sailed on me there and nobody feels worse than me -- putting the guy on second base there. I feel like it cost us the game tonight. The Giants finished with eight hits, breaking a string of five straight games in which they have been held to four or fewer. The Giants are hitting .124 over their last six games.DJ LeMahieuu added a two-out, infield single in the third in which Raimel Tapia kept on running from second to score.dddddddddddd Tapia had a sacrifice fly in the fifth.Colorados Tyler Anderson and Jeff Samardzija were locked in a pitchers duel most of the game.Anderson threw 7 1/3 crisp innings, giving up two runs and six hits. The lefty with a deceiving hitch in his delivery has a 3.04 ERA at Coors Field this season.Samardzija matched the rookies performance as he allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings. Samardzija struck out nine.Thats what its all about, especially in September -- got to find a way to win, Samardzija said.Anderson ran into trouble in the eighth by surrendering singles to Gorkys Hernandez and Trevor Brown. After a sacrifice bunt, Anderson was taken out for Jordan Lyles. Nunez grounded out to short to bring home the tying run.Nunezs solo shot in the third was a rare homer for the Giants, who have 37 since All-Star break -- the second-fewest in the league.LeMahieu, who is in a close race for the NL batting title with Washingtons Daniel Murphy, went 3 for 4 on Tuesday and raised his average to .343.TRAINERS ROOMGiants: RHP Jake Peavy (strained lower back) threw a bullpen session Monday and could be activated off the DL on Wednesday. ...
